Romantic suspense rather than pure romance. Didn't find it very romantic, or suspenseful, though the blurb made it sound like it would hit some of my buttons: the gothic atmosphere, dark family, a woman alone, false identity, going mad with paranoia that turns out to be true...But I didn't like it

very much, even as a light read. I skimmed the last third or so, because I wanted to see how it turned out without spending any more time than necessary with the characters. The romance was so unromantic I didn't even skim the sex scenes.

Marla Cahill's life has been turned upside down after an accident that leaves her amnesiac. General knowledge is easy for Marla, it's things like herself and her entire family that she doesn't seem to be able to recall anything about. As Marla learns the truth she becomes wary of the people that

she is surrounded by in everyday life. Some things are just not adding up for her and she's beginning to wonder if the accident she was in was ever really an accident at all. With the help of her brother-in-law Marla uncovers the truth that is her life. Or is it?

Great page turner that will keep you guessing until the end.  Who is she?

Marla Cahill has just survived a deadly car accident, the other people involved are all dead. Her face has been restored through plastic surgery and shes starting to physically mend. She's suffering from amnesia and can't really remember anyting. Nothing from her former life is coming through.

She's also finding her brother-in-law very attractive but neither of them want to betray her husband and his brother.

There were a lot of twists and turns in the story and it wrapped up very quickly, somewhat overpopulated by characters and several of them didn't really have enough of a different voice to stand out enough not to confuse me.

It's not a bad read but it didn't really stand out for me.

Marla Cahill survived a deadly car crash and plastic surgery restored her looks, however, her memories are gone, even the face in the mirror is a stranger. When nothing around her, the house she is living in nor family members, triggers her memory she starts to think she is not who everyone says

she is (I thought that too). As she tried to figure out who she is, she realized she is in danger, being stalked by a murderer.

Read this in a day, mainly because I am behind in my reading and if I don’t read a book a day I will never catch up. However it was easy to read in a day. It is a fast paced book with a twisted story line, when I read that Marla didn’t recognize her family and had no familiarity with them, I thought I knew what was going on, from a story line in another book I read, but I was wrong. It was a pleasant surprise and it captured my attention, the plot twisted and turned into a believable ending. It did not seem like something just thrown together to make all the pieces fit.

I've enjoyed other Lisa Jackson books but this one seems to drag on with little action. I finish nearly everything I start, but this one I had to toss aside.

This book would have been improved by removing the extraneous sex scenes which added nothing to the story. I am not a prude by any means and scenes of intimacy can be used to advance the character development. However, the scenes in this book could have been cut and the book would have been much

improved. I am not a fan of "romance" novels, I got over that phase when I was in my 20s. I did like the story and time spent on the sex scenes could have been better used to tighten up the storyline. I doubt I will ever read another one of this author's pieces.

This was an awesome book - a real mystery - kept me up reading late into the night for almost two weeks. Kept me guessing right to the end. Definitely a five star read!
