I feel like this is supposed to be a satire of the countless formulaic battle manga that have appeared in Shonen Jump, but the humor is so mild all it ever really amounts to is yet another formulaic battle manga. I really cannot see much difference between this and Dragon Ball or One Piece, except

I got bored of this much, much quicker than I did with those two.

The hero keeps explaining he decided to become a hero three years ago "just for fun" and yet he never seems to have any fun. Hell, he's downright mopey and too off-putting for me to care about. Not for me.
