Not as good as the other reading together book by Mary Ann Hoberman. Yet still fun to read with someone. Each page contains an old childhood favorite redone.

Tomie dePaola's Mother Goose anthology is filled with over 200 nursery rhymes and lovely illustrations. dePaola filled this book with well known nursery rhymes such as Yankee Doodle and not so well known ones such as Charlie Warlie had a cow. Children will love dePaola's whimsical illustrations he

created to join the nursery rhymes throughout the book while reading aloud with parents.

Mary Ann Hoberman takes a different approach with Mother Goose in her book, You read to me, I'll read to you: Very short mother goose tales to read together. She chose well known Mother Goose nursery rhymes but arranged the book to read as a read-together, read aloud book. Each verse is arranged so two to three readers can take turns between lines throughout the nursery rhymes. Comical and humorous illustrations are paired with the nursery rhymes and will sure to give a new twist on these Mother Goose tales.

Creative versions blending and altering popular nursery rhymes are presented.

The book would be useful in comparison to other versions of popular nursery rhymes.

This book is meant for side by side reading, with two reader parts on each page. The poems are fun and rhythmic. Great way to reinforce a unit on mother goose rhymes! I love these books!

This book and the others like them are great reads for kids. It allows them to read with peers and adults. When trying to get a student to read pairing them with another could be a great benefit. I also like the added benefit that these could possibly used as plays.
