Wi-Can-H-Pi--Cek-Pa and the Chief Who Lost His Arm: The Hand Constellation

Madeline M. White was born on February 19, 1944, in a log cabin in the Long Hollow area, near Sisseton, South Dakota. She was sent to the Tekakwitha Orphanage at an early age & later attended Wahpeton Indian School. Madeline states, "I wrote because I did not want to forget the old stories I heard from my grandparents & mother." Madeline's two Dakota Ti-Pi spirit legend stories & drawings help all of us better understand the respect & reverence her people have for this world & beyond. These stories can be told in Dakota, Lakota & Nakota.
