Nothing like the author pushing an agenda. I had to read this book for a literature class. Complete waste of time. The character development is horrible, the characters are forgettable and the setting is unbelievable. The fact that Ecotopia had no resistance from the government is highly

improbable. I have read children's books that present issues better than this book.

As with Ecotopia (which I liked better, overall) this writer comes from a certain age in writing about utopian visions of the future. He brings in interesting ideas but is not very informed on the sociological or cultural fronts that he is trying to overcome with his ideals. His view and

understanding about women or sexuality made me roll my eyes several times... much like I did with Ecotopia. He is a product of his era.
But again, its an idea... and its not a bad one.
