He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, fined $2500 and ordered that upon release, that he wear an electronic ankle monitor for the rest of his life. in the course of the trial, testimony from both of his children revealed years of sexual abuse while they were young, as well as physical abuse of his ex-wife. On 11 July 2020 Klein died of pancreatic cancer in prison in Louisiana.
