First book out there for us to use for Faires. Good basic info on how to make Elizabethan costumes from modern patterns, teaching fitting, corsetry, accessory building. Couldn't have done Faire in the 1970s without it. A starting place, not the most historical, but a good place to start.

Useful for people going to or acting in a Renaissance Fair/Festival. Also for beginning costumers or theatrical costuming. But not really accurate for historic costumers.

I have to give credit for Ms Savoy and Winter to get this book out on what they considered Historically Accurate Clothing for Elizabethans 1550 to 1580. As time has gone on we can see that their suppositions and guesses caused more ill than positives for the Renaissance Faire Circuit or anyone

wanting Historically Accurate information.

Look at this book via a library, do not pay for it, it is not worth it, except as an iconic view of why Ren Faire dresses as they do!
