The absolute reference on Tarot history, individual decks and cards. First published on the 70's today is (only slightly) incomplete due to finds, theories and published material that have arisen afterwards. This heavy set of 4 books remains a seminal work on which every serious study on the Tarot

must be based. It presents almost every Tarot deck known at the time, more often then not, graphically. The 1st and 2nd volume are most important to Tarot historians, the remainder, dedicated mainly to modern Tarot, are interesting mainly to collectors (the author himself is a collector) and post-19th century researchers.Highly recommended!
