Wonderful book with a lot to say. As a chemist I have to tell you do not expect detailed (or any really) descriptions of chemical properties, dosage, or common medical practice. It is a wonderful historical book though. It goes through several early herbal manuals and herbologies and syntheses the

information into a very manageable form.

A few of the herbs mentioned in the book are commonly thought of as poisonous and that is not mentioned so I would never use this book as my only reference for selecting herbs to burn, ingest, or bathe in, but it does give a historical context for herbalism.

It also has several huge well thought out indexes for finding Latin names based on common names, astrological correspondence, deity correspondence and more.

I would say that this would probably not be a great first book on herbalism (I would recommend Scott Cunningham's for that) but it is a must for the serious student of pagan herbalism.

Lovingly written, but with enough weird errors that it definitely cannot be your only herbal book. Useful in the context of pagan religious practice, but fairly useless as an herbal medicine book.
