I enjoyed this book - more so during the re-reading of it.

It has a deeply feminist slant but the layout of the book is what captured me.

Instead of it being merely "another book on Goddess studies", it was set like a workbook. You had meditations to do, activities to try... all while delving into

certain aspects of the Goddess.

It is still a very useful book for me and I bought it nearly 10 years ago!

While I agree with the reviewer who liked the format of the book as a workbook, I did not enjoy this work. The author seems to hate men, not just the patriarchy and constantly rails against them throughout. I found Shekinah's rewriting of myths to be all female to be unbalanced, hard to read and

just missing the spirit of the mythology she quotes.

Perhaps in time I will find more to like in this book, but for now it made me angry. The solution to a lack of balance between the genders is not to go to the opposite extreme and eliminate or defame men. That is simply lowering yourself to the level of the mysogynist, but going in the opposite direction.
