This book (originally titled Erscheinungen (this can be loosely translated as Sightings)) focuses on mysterious sightings that have taken place from 15th century up to 1974 (most famous are sightings in Fatima, Lourdes etc). Daeniken tries to find out who are the people that have witnessed the

sightings [or were contacted by these unknown phenomena], shows how powerful human brain is and how some people are capable to do great things using only the sheer power of the will. Finally he concludes that all of these phenomena are all triggered by a “gift” given to us, humans, by ancient space civilization (to understand this do read other Daeniken works) to enable us to communicate with them.

As it is always case with Daeniken reader is presented with many [for me at least] unknown facts regarding the paranormal research and experiences. Again [and this is something I like about Daeniken] he does not claim his theory is true – he only tries to look at the things from the different perspective.

Recommended.
