Library's review

Judo for the Gentle Woman is a guide to the art and practice of self-defense for the so-called weaker sex. Its primary purpose, howerver, is to introduce the basic principles of judo to the woman student.

Some self-defense is discussed in detail, including wrist breaks and escape from many forms of

attack. Particular emphasis is placed on throwing techniques (nagewaza) and their use in free play (randori). The techniques are illustrated by lucid photos showing the simple, yet important movements and positions necessary to implement their execution.

The earnest student can benefit by the guide lines set forth in this book.
