Michael Gilman has been studying and practicing the ancient are of Tai Chi Chuan since 1968 and teaching since 1973. He is a national Grand Champion competitor in Push Hands, a competition judge and runs a successful Tai chi studio in Port Townsend, Washington. Michael has studied with some of the top names in Tai Chi, including William C. C. Chen, Jou Tsung Hwa, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, Liang, Shou-Yu and his first teacher, Master Choy Kam-Man. Master Choys father, Choy Hok Peng, is believed to have introduced Tai Chi Chuan to the United States in the 1940's.
