Christopher Goedecke, a karate black baelt, began training in the martial arts at the age of sixteen, and since 1971 has taught karate to thousands of children and adults. He is the chief instructor at the Wind School, the author of A Guide to the Martial Arts of New Jersey, the inventor of the martial arts card game, Grand Master, and a frequent contributor to martial arts magazines. Mr. Goedecke lives in Chatham, New Jersey.

Rosmarie Hausherr, a karate green belt, is the acclaimed author/photographer of several ALA Notable Books, including The One Room School at Squabble Hollow, My First Puppy, and My First Kitten. Ms. Hausherr lives in Peacham, Vermont and New York City.
