About the authors...

Robert K. Koga, an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department for thirteen years and presently a full-time instructor at the Los Angeles Police Academy, is an innovator of techniques which have been proven successful in subduing the criminal suspect. Recognized as an authority in the martial arts, Koga has trained students at the academy where the program has been expanded to serve all members of the Los Angeles Police Department.

John G. Nelson is a Sergeant specializing in training methods. His thirteen years with the Los Angeles Police Department have included a full-time assigmnent to the Los Angeles Police Academy and a special assignment in riot control training and adminsistration. Nelson, well-versed in defensive tactics, has extensive writing experience which adds to the impact of the text.
