Thomas J. Nardi, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and a martial arts practitioner and researcher. He is in provate practice as a clinical psychologist in Rockland County, New York. He also tachers psychology on the college and graduate level for two universititess in New York.

Dr. Nardi began his martial arts training as a youngster and holds a black belts in goju-ryu karate and ju-jutsu. He is a frequent contributor to the major martial arts magazines. In addition, he is the author of two other martial arts books.

David Garr specializes in photographing karate students and teachers in action, and has contributed to most of the major karate and martial arts magazines. His home and studio are in Monsey, New York.

Mike Petronella's illustrations appear in major sports magazines and books. An avid golfer in his spare time, Mike makes his home in Oradell, New Jersey.
