H. Hoa Newens has been training in Aikido for forty four years, with the past thirty two years devoted tothe teachings of the late Morihiro Saito Shihan of Iwama, Japan. Newens Sensei has crystalized his technical experience in a series of professionally produced DVDs entitled Aikido curriculum. The collection of essays presented in this book may be viewed as the philosophical background for the DVDs. Newens Sensei wrote these essays over a period of fifteen years to guide his students in the non-technical aspect of Aikido training.
