REVIEW

How TO review a book LIKE this. I got it quite a while ago, AND I have READ it many times. I have brought it along WITH me while travelling, AND I have had it handy IN my DAY TO DAY life. I feel it IS here, because it was meant TO be, NOT just because somebody wanted TO publish a book about spirituality. Chi-E IS an important book.

Chi-E IS AS Grand Master Shoto Tanemura says IN the preface "a book about the Amatsu Tatara teachings". I do NOT profess TO be very knowledgable IN the Amatsu Tatara tradition, but the words OF Chi-E ARE universal AND they resonate within our lives. The form IS prose, AND the book IS shaped AS one long poem, speaking OF the creation OF the universe AND the destiny OF mankind AND the world. You will find it's spiritual equivalents in Buddhism, Hinduism, and even Christianity. The important thing to remember is that all these spiritual traditions are but ways to the same essential goal for all living things. But the key to understanding it, in my opinion, is action. To use it as a guide, as a point of reference along one's own journey through life. These words ARE FOR life.

" (...) we are one with the universe"
The book urges us TO remember that ALL things ARE connected. That our actions CREATE reactions NOT ONLY IN our visible field OF vision, but ON ALL levels OF existence. The words tell us that we have a responsibility NOT ONLY towards our own well being, but FOR ALL the things that ARE influenced by what we do IN this world.

We live IN a TIME WHEN much OF our culture AND civilisation IS an ego-driven pursuit OF pleasure AND quick bliss. This book will aid us IN our WORK TO cultivate awareness AND the means by which we will be able TO polish our spirits, AND remain ON course, while moving through a sometimes dark AND often uncertain future.

Meant TO be READ AND lived, Chi-E IS a special contribution TO everyone who wants TO hear the subtle song OF the heart. But it requires that we take the actual journey, AND NOT just simulate it FROM the safety OF the little "bubbles" we CREATE around us IN this mad world.

It IS NOT a history book, AND it IS NOT a step by step manual IN RIGHT living, OR an a-b-c OF cosmic truths. It probably has little BIT OF everything, but most OF ALL it IS a companion ON the path OF light towards a fuller understanding OF the universe IN which we live, AND OF which we ARE an inseparable part.

The book IS highly recommended.
