Library's review

With the warrior as mentor we are taken on a cyclical journey, sharing with him the pleasure and pain, the

successes and defeats that we all face in life. He shows us how to learn from these experiences, to grow and move forward using the universal nature of the beliefs to act as our guide.

Written in a style that echoes the oriental tradition of instruction from master to pupil, each of the thirty-six readings reflects a stage in the warrior's journey, and each is mirrored in a superb example of Japanese art. Evocative prints, drawings and paintings are used throughout to help create not only an indispensable oracle for life, but also a beautiful book to treasure.

Lucas Estrella Schultz is a student of the philosophies and practices of the martial arts of Japan and China, and has been deeply influenced by the teachings of Buddhism and Shinto as well as by the writings of Carlos Castaneda (The Teachings of Don Juan) and Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. He studied animal behaviour in Germany and works as a professor of psychophysiology at the Andres Bello National University in Santiago, Chile, where he now lives.

In this exquisite book the spiritual nature of a Japanese warrior's philosophy reaveals how we, too, canuse these beliefes as a guide inour own lives.

The warrior travels on his journey, and his experiences are recounted as if from master to pupil to offer us guidance and suppoort for the challenges of everyday life. Each morning, simply open the book and choose one of the thirty-six readings at random to discover the message the warrior brings you for that day.

Path of the Warrior is illustrated with stunning Japanese art, and each image has been carefully chosen to express the sentiments of the warrior's words. No other book brings such an understanding of the bushi-the Japanese warrior-and the world in which he lives, nor offers us the chance to learn from his story as we progress on our own life journey.
