Bronilyn Smith is a self-defence consultant, author and instructor: she is a Black Belt (4th degree) in Aikido and one of Australia's leading authorities on self-defence.

She has been a teacher and lecturer at all levels form courses specifically designed for adult education, schools and community programs through to producing a 'Self-Protection for the elderly' resource manual for the Federal Government. A founding member of the Tasmanian Martial arts Council, Mrs. Smith was appointed to the Federal Government's Working Group on Women In Sport in 1985.
