As one of America's foremost Karate Pioneers Ed Parker was never satsified with patented answers. While he believes that tradition can be helpful, he places emphasis on logic over tradition. Consequently, in dissecting motion, he has discovered logic to be the key ingredient influencing consistent and organized methods of study.

Ed Parker's interest in employing logic dates back to his very beginning in Honolulu. He approved of the new and exciting methods that he was learning as a neophyte in KENPO, but having been an experienced street fighter felt that innovations were needed.

As a result of his research he has generated innovative answers by comparing KENPO with other fields of endeavor. Accordingly, his method of relating past experiences with the functional aspects of KENPO has revealed astounding breakthroughs. Extracting principles from phsics, mathematics, geometry, equations, both numeric and alphabetic systems in addition to the experiences of life itself, have caused new KENPO disciplines to emerge. consequently his suse of analogies short stories, and quotes has created distinctive methods to convert verbal language into physical language. It is this unique ability to communicate Martial Arts information that remains unparalleled.

As you read Ed Parker's latest five volume series, you will concur that the KENPO SYSTEM he has developed did not just appear from nowhere. They have come about through thought provoking study, experimentation, and experience. With each new experience, he has achieved steady growth. As a result he has developed a timeless art. His KENPO was effective yesterday,is effective today, and will continue to be effective into the future.

Today Ed Parker has schools thoughout the United states, Canada, Ireland, Germany, England, Australia, New Zealand, Holland, Spain, Jersey, Venezuela, Guatemala, and Chile with many second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth generation of offsrpings in every major city in the United States.

In addition to authoring Kenpo Karate, Secrets of Chinese Karate, A Women's guide to Self-Defense, Ed Parker's Guide to the Nunchaku, The Basic Booklet and Inside Elvis, he has published several teaching manuals for students as well as Law Enforcement Agencies.
