About the author

Wayland J. Pulkkinen has been practicing judo for over 25 years, and is presently a registered 4th degree black belt in Kodokan Judo. He is a former member of the Canadian National Judo Team, and has competed and participated in numerous international judo competitions and training camps througout his athletic career. His education includes a Bachelor of Physical Education (McMaster University), and a Master of Science in Applied Sport Science and Coaching (Lakehead University). He has presented at academic and coaching conferences, in addition to being published in both academic and non-academic journals. Currently, he presents educational seminars and workshops in the sport science and health related fields.
