Description

Abstract: Wellness is described as a positive approach not just to the prevention of disease, but the pursuit of a more rewarding lifestyle. It incorporates mental and physical capabilities based on responsibility, nutrition knowledge, physical fitness, stress management and environmental awareness. The first step to wellness is evaluating your current status. This can be done by self-administration of appraisal questions, which also provide clues to areas of needed improvement. Emphasis is on understanding oneself and one's capabilities, learning serenity, using assertiveness when necessary, striving to improve the environment and partaking of regular exercise. Resources for further reading are suggested.
