If you've been reading this series, then it's finally come to read about Mattie's story. We've followed her throughout the books as she has been in remission from cancer. Throughout the books, she's shown as a person who's frustrated with her situation but still hopeful and having lots of faith.

The romance is light and while predictable is quite sweet. I really like how Graham and Mattie have been friends forever so a potential romance was always inevitable. At first I was rooting for Will but then his true nature came out which made me a bit sad.

Jenna's story seems a bit out of place in the context of the entire book. I was annoyed at her for what she did to Graham and then even more annoyed that she never told the real father. It got a little too perfect at the end for me though, with the other family's reaction to her news. My only qualm is that I wasn't that big of a fan of how John came to his final decision. Throughout the series we see him flip-flopping between the two women and then the Amish and the outside world lifestyle. We see him make the decision but I didn't really get a good sense of why he did it other than emotional feelings. The whole spiritual aspect never comes into play which I think is a serious issue in going back and forth between these lifestyles.

This is another nice Amish romance from Gray that I enjoyed reading. I have a feeling that this won't be the last time we see these characters. Gray has a tendency to write a Christmas novel featuring characters from past series so I wouldn't be surprised if next year we find out what Lucy, Ella and Mattie have been doing since we last left them.

Most novels end the way we expect-everyone is where they should be, everyone is happy. It is getting to the end and what you find on the way that matters. What I found in this book was surprising. Several things happened that I didn't expect-and that is what makes this such a good book-it is

unpredictable.

Mattie and Graham begin to court but an young Englisher may come between them forever. Mattie sees William a couple of times but decides they are not meant to be a couple. She tells him not to call again but he brags to Graham and others that they are courting. Mattie and Graham struggle to overcome the many challenges between them, and Graham must convince Mattie and the community that he is not the father of an Englisch girls baby.

There a tornado that goes though their community but find out what is important. We find out that Calvin and Lucy are expecting their first baby. Mattie is struggling with her emotions and where she get past about her best friend Graham Weaver as more then a friend. Graham is also trying to figure
Show More
out his feeling for Mattie. There a rumor going around saying Jenna Yoder is carrying Graham Weavers child. We are introduced to several new characters in this story and series.

This was a fun filled and stress reading this story. Though I wished there was a better way to finish it about Lucy and Calvin and How Jenna and Chis his family made it out of the tornado? I I know that John married Mary. We Know that All the Weavers made it out of Tornado safe and sound though I would have like to know about Calvin and Lucy baby?

This was the third book in the Families of Honor Series.

I enjoyed it for the most part - but was a little disappointed as I don't think we got closer on all the characters by the end of the book / series.

Maddie, fianlly cancer free tries to refind her faith and love. She asks her best friend to

find her an Amish gentleman to court her, he of course is crushed as he wants to be the suiter. Then there is Jenna, who dated Graham (the best friend) for a short period and finds herself pregnant and decides to tell everyone Graham is the father - although they never even kissed.

I just was left a little unsatisified when this book was done.

I must say I really enjoyed continuing to read about the characters from the first book. Ella really deals with self esteem issues, but it was so nice to see her come out of her shell. The character of Dorothy was quite fascinating to hear about. I think bitterness over what had happened to her when
Show More
she was younger really taken a little far. I really don't think that I have ever read another Amish character quite like her.
I also intrigue in reading more about Calvin and Lucy, and I great seeing things through young Katie's eyes. Her determination to get to the library and sign up for the summer reading program was so sweet. The scenes that take place in the Kaffi Haus really had me wanting to find out what going on there.
I also like the continuing story of Maddie and her health issues and Graham part of the story. Though I think Mattie has found her special someone but I am hoping she find out soon.
