Navy SEAL, Lieutenant Derek Vaughn has known FBI Agent, Elizabeth Le Blanc, but could never get her to open up and actually date him. When he's sought out to provide aid to the FBI concerning a terrorist's plot against the United States, he comes into contact with Elizabeth again. This time, he's

determined to break the walls she's stubbornly built around herself in hopes of protecting her heart. Being a SEAL, Derek doesn't have it in him to back down from a challenge and he can't seem to get Liz out of his mind…or his fantasies.

I can't seem to get enough of Ms. Griffin's strong, muscular, seductive heroes! I admired all of the characters in Beyond Limits, but especially Derek and Liz. I enjoy the strong females in Ms. Griffin's books, as well as the tempting alpha heroes. I loved the synergy between Derek and Liz, even as Liz tried to keep Derek at a distance, afraid to give in to him. The coordinating details, along with all the clues and facts, dovetail into a gripping plot that will keep you thoroughly mesmerized from the very first page. The explosive drama had me practically bouncing in my seat, totally engrossed in the events as they occurred. If you like action, edge-of-your-seat-suspense, seduction and tender loving romance, you'll find all of that in Beyond Limits. I've been hooked on the Tracers series from the beginning and I wouldn't have missed a single book! A Must Read series! 5 Stars!

It has been quite some time since I have read a book in this series. Yet, each book can be read as a stand alone novel. So just like me, you can jump right back into this series with ease. Even with not being familiar with the events from the prior book or Elizabeth and Derek's history, I still
Show More
felt the connect they shared with each other. Which I liked that the author did not allow them to get closer to each other until about midway through the story. As much as I like romance between two characters, it can be distracting at times if not done right from the main story.

Although, I expected Elizabeth to be stronger than she was. Which she may be in prior novels but she seemed to let Derek call the shots in this book. Yet, I still enjoyed the book and was into the story. Very believable. A quick read.

Beyond Limits by Laura Griffin is a 2015 Gallery Books publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Laura Griffin rules the military style romantic suspense genre. This eighth installment in the Tracers series does not disappoint.

Elizabeth is
Show More
an FBI agent still struggling with the aftermath of her last case and the lingering feelings she has for Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn.
When a terrorist cell is discovered that has big plans for Texas, Elizabeth and Derek find themselves face to face once again and the chemistry between them is just as strong as ever.
For Derek the FBI is not moving fast enough. Lives are stake as the possibility arises that chemical warfare is the terrorist weapon of choice. Instead of wading through bureaucracy, red tapes and waffling, which is the FBI in a nutshell, he wants to gain Intel from Elizabeth and use it go after the terrorist himself.

From start to finish the action is non-stop and suspense gets more intense with each chapter. This story touches on several themes. The work of the SEALS, and vast difference in methods they employee as opposed to government agencies. If this scenario was a real live case, I think I would have to put my money on the SEALS. The FBI might let us all die.
The effects of war, the honor among SEALS, the impact it has on the personal lives of the men is also an undercurrent.

Derek is my kind of guy. He pulls no punches, gets the job done and means business. We really need more guys like this one! Oh and he's a super hot SEAL and that makes him super sexy too. Elizabeth was a bit timid, sort of damaged after all she had been through before she took on this case. She doesn't fight Derek too hard when he wants information from her even though she knows he is using her for the Intel. Despite her issues, she is no shrinking violet when comes to doing her job and is as serious as Derek about catching the terrorists before the worst happens.

The romance in this one is not quite as heated as some previous books in the series, but the story line here is just really, really intense and serious and there is a lot going on, so I thought it was more realistic. That is not to say the romance is not hot, just fewer love scenes. This couple has a few challenges to face but if they are as determined to work on their relationship as they do in other areas of their lives , then I think they are going to be just fine.

Overall I have to say I enjoyed this book as much as all the others in the series. If you are fan of this author then snap up your copy now, you won't regret it. If you new to this author, never fear, you can read this one as a stand alone. Once you do, you will want to read all Laura Griffin novels! 4.5 stars .

Up till now I've really enjoyed LG's thrillers, but this is not really a Tracers book but rather a military (ooh, scary terrorists!) book. I hope she goes back to writing Tracers books. As usual, the writing and characters are good, though.

FBI agent Elizabeth (one of my favourite characters from a previous book) and Navy SEAL Derek track terrorists on US soil. This was exciting and the twists and turns of the investigation were interesting. I really wish people got more sleep though...

Elizabeth LeBlanc, FBI agent, and Derek Vaughn, SEAL, have been dancing around each other for more than a year as their paths continually cross due cases that one or the other is working on, but Derek is feeling the need, more than ever, to seek out Elizabeth after the death of his teammate, Seth,

during their last SEAL mission. Elizabeth has been chosen to work on a case that might lead to terrorists planning an attack on American soil in Houston, Texas. Derek wants in on the case because it involves the same group that killed Seth. The more they discover, the more Derek and Elizabeth realize that they need to pool their resources in order to stop this attack.
Derek and Elizabeth met in a previous Tracers book and have appeared in several since, making their growing relationship more realistic. Derek has a bold, sarcastic, and persistent personality that makes his character stand out from previous heroes in this series. Even though the Tracers in the Delphi Center are not used much, this is still another really good entry in the Tracers Series.
