This is a sequel to Spellfire, which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately this sequel did not live up to expectations. I found the pacing of the plot too hectic - the entire book is basically Shandril and her allies running from one dangerous situation to the next.

I really enjoyed Spellfire, the first book in this series, but I didn't enjoy this one as much. This continues the story of a young woman with a unique magic power who is pursued by a number of nefarious forces out to control that power. This one is a bit too action-heavy.
