The Sisterhood series is a group of women with some male assistance, labeled Vigilantes in the press, who fight for what they believe in, make dramatic rescues, put nefarious criminals out of commission, and basically do what the police are withheld by law from doing. This book dealt with

pseudo-religious communes when one of the members of the Sisterhood has road accident with a busload of 12- and 13-year old pregnant girls being transported to a commune. At this particular time their leader and mentor is not available and they must cover all contingencies and decisions alone. Fortunately through previous work, they are able to make connection with some of their associates and with a lot of planning on the run they get the job done. Action, humor, and a gung-ho attitude makes for a great series.
