The very tragic story of a Borg who is reclaimed from the collective, and of a friend of Guinan

world about to be attacked by the Borg as blowing "his supreme military head off"). This defines Peter David's Star Trek work.

I read this book the first time twenty years ago and had very fond memories. Sadly, they did not survive the second read. It seems my teenage taste was quite different.
