Description

Almost nothing could be as bad as finding out your mother is Visser One, the most powerful leader of the Yeerk invasion of Earth. But it happened to Marco. And even though he's been handling it pretty well, he knew there'd come a time when he'd have to face her again, knowing that the Yeerk in her brain has taken his mother away. So when Marco and the other Animorphs discover that Visser One is overseeing a secret underwater project, they know they have to check it out. But Marco's not sure if this is a battle he'll be able to fight.

A short comment for every book of the series until I get a chance to re-read them. All three of my sons and I loved this series and read every single book - I even bought every single book (most, but not all, used; some through school book sales). I'm excited to re-read them to see how the five

main characters develop and to watch all the different transformations again.

Unfair to sharks, but still entertaining.

Marco's story is always the most compelling. Some moments I wished would have been focused on more. The uncertainty and the inner turmoil about Visser One and the Leeran (at the end) should have been 10 pages and not two paragraphs.

Spring 2020 (Animorphs Read 2020 April);

I don't like Marco at all.

He's bearable when I'm only getting commentary about his existence through other people, but I find myself having to push myself so hard to get through any of his books. I see the "telling" of the constant mentions of people saying

he's humorous, and especially is bragging/bungling with it, but there so little doing of it, and every time they seem to show it, I just groan and want to silence the child. He's everything about That Guy that I don't like.
