another woman in another part of town is found dead, her hands & feet missing. Though the two murders seem nothing alike, they are connected in surprising ways, and Maura and Jane work together to figure out the connections.

Every once in a while I enjoy a murder/cop story to cleanse my reading palate, and this one fit the bill. I had to look back at my reading history to be sure, but I've read one previous novel by Tess Gerritsen and I was less than impressed by that one. But I did for the most part enjoy this one, even despite it being an abridged audio. It was a good abridgment and I didn't feel like I lost a lot of the meat of the story, as often happens with abridgments. The plot kept me interested and I was puzzled trying to figure out the connection between the two murders. Overall, a pretty good one for this genre.
