Description

Fiction. Mystery. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) HTML: Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, where bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's life is about to implode in Janet Evanovich's wildest, hottest novel yet! FIRST A STRANGER APPEARS While chasing down the usual cast of miscreants and weirdos Stephanie discovers that a crazed woman is stalking her. THEN THE STRANGER REVEALS HER SECRETS The woman dresses in black, carries a 9mm Glock, and has a bad attitude and a mysterious connection to dark and dangerous Carlos Manoso ...street name, Ranger. NEXT, SOMEBODY DIES The action turns deadly serious, and Stephanie goes from hunting skips to hunting a murderer. SOON, THE CHASE IS ON Ranger needs Stephanie for more reasons than he can say. And now, the two are working together to find a killer, rescue a missing child, and stop a lunatic from raising the body count. When Stephanie Plum and Ranger get too close for comfort, vice cop Joe Morelli (her on-again, off-again boyfriend) steps in. Will the ticking clock stop at the stroke of twelve, or will a stranger in the wind find a way to stop Stephanie Plum...forever? Filled with Janet Evanovich's trademark action, nonstop adventure, and sharp humor, Twelve Sharp shows why her novels have been called "hot stuff" (The New York Times), and Evanovich herself "the master" (San Francisco Examiner)..… (more)

I LOVE the Stephanie Plum books - and I think this one was just as funny and exciting as all the others. I do agree that perhaps we are reaching the point where we need to look for a resolution to the Stephanie/ Morelli/ Ranger triangle - but it's hard to see how this could be done without losing a
Show More
big element of the books.

If you haven't read any of the books then do so! They're light, fun, sexy and real page-turners - highly recommended!

Not one of the better Plum novels. It seemed kind of disjointed and I wasn't much on the plot of the guy who was obsessed with Ranger. I did listen to it on audio so maybe that made a difference.

Caught and kept my interest from begining to end. A few of the situations in the middle of the book seemed out of character for Ranger, and I was beginning to think that at the end she would kill off one of Steph's men, but I guess that's for another book! Can't wait for the next one.

A fun read but nothing really new. More of Stephanie's escapades with Joe, Ranger, Lulu, Tank and of course, Grandma.

Stephanie is back, being chased by a woman who claims to be Ranger's wife. As the body count mounts it looks like it could be Ranger doing the killing, or someone suspiciously like Ranger. Meanwhile they need a new bounty hunter in the office. Some seriously laugh out loud moments with her
Show More
grandmother as usual. Also the love triange between Stephanie, Ranger and Morelli gets more and more complicated. Stephanie is still having problems choosing between the two of them.

Much Better than 11, however, I wish Evanovich would resolve the Ranger/Morrelli situation.

Ok so I got sucked in again. After several promising reads in this series the last 2 outings had been a big disappointment. I promised myself I was NOT going to buy another HB, but here we are. Turns out to be fairly good though.

Stephanie is a bounty hunter. She's not real good at her job and her efforts are a constant source of humor in these books. In this book her fellow bounty hunter Ranger is in trouble. His daughter has been kidnapped and he is the prime suspect. His 'wife' shows up threatening Stephanie and the wife
Show More
ends up dead. Hmmm... something isn't right.

All the old favorites make appearances in this latest book in the series. There are several laugh out loud moments. My favorite part of this book was getting to learn a little mroe about the mysterious Ranger. The books can stand alone, but I'd really suggest starting at the beginning of the series for things to make a little mroe sense. This latest addition wasn't the best of the series, but it is still worth reading.

Love this series and the author's sense of humor. Thought this one was one of the best ones out of the twelve I've read so far. Looking forward to reading #13.

Stephanie has to help her 'friend', Ranger, dodge kidnap and murder charges and find the man who is impersonating him. Problem is, he is hiding out at her place and she's not sure how long she can resist the sensual feelings he arouses. Then, there is the fact that Stephanie is really not a very
Show More
good bounty hunter and perhaps a worse detective. As if that isn't enough, vice cop Joe Morelli, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, has decided to be on-again, especially since the dark and dangerous Ranger has always had a thing for Stephanie.
There are plot twists, Stephanie's Grandmother, a funeral(of course) and laughs. A good read.

Well, I did it. I read the entire series (except the Christmas book) in August. I really enjoyed this story. Someone asked me if they should read them in order. Yes. I think that more after reading Twelve Sharp. This addition to the series would definitely be better knowing the history of the
Show More
characters. Not that the story isn't worthy on it's own. It is just that I am still enjoying the romantic confusion that Stephanie has over Ranger and Morelli. Tha angle would be better in order.

This is one of the strongest Plum books yet. The plot was a complete story and interesting on it's own, without the usual Plum hilarities. If Evanovich can keep the series going like this, she'll easily make it into the bigger digits. Best of the Plum series so far, in my opinion!

Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter, Ranger, Lula, Morelli, Grandma mazur et al. are back for teh 12th time and not nearly as amusing as the first few in this series. Stephanie really needs to grow a bit. the best fiction include characters who make reasonable decisions with intereting results...not
Show More
characters who are just dumb. The 2 men in stephanie's life seem to be interesting, reasonable adults. It is the women who are total goof balls and i rather resent this. In this outing, ranger's daughter (yeah, who knew) is kidnapped by a "pseudo ranger" nut case.

I really do love reading this series of books. Great light-hearted read that is quite entertaining. I laughes quite a bit through this book. The love triangle thing is always fun to follow. Can't wait for the next one!

This book actually belongs to my mother-in-law. I refuse to spend real money on anything that Evanovich writes, but I will read it (since it takes only a couple of hours), if it is set in front of me.

Like most series novels, the characters are set in concrete. None of them will be killed or fatally
Show More
wounded. The worst things can almost happen to them, but in the end nothing changes. Her heroine is still living in her small apartment, is still involved with two very different men, still has an incompetent side kick and a dysfunctional family, and is not very much better at her bounty hunter job than she was when she started. You know what will happen, so just look for the laughs and move on to the next book.

If you’ve never read a Stephanie Plum novel before, I don’t recommend you start with this one. Please begin with One for the Money, and the numbers go up sequentially (how nice of our dear Janet to title them so conveniently). Also if you’ve read this series all the way through, you probably
Show More
didn’t need to read this review to have rushed out and bought Twelve Sharp the minute it hit shelves a couple of weeks ago, or even earlier if you splurge on hardcovers - more than likely you’ve even beaten me to reading Lean Mean Thirteen already. But for those few who think “well, maybe this one won’t be as fantastic as the others…”, let me put your mind at ease. It was fantabulous!

You just can’t get enough of Stephanie and Lula bungling apprehensions, dressed-in-drag Sally Sweet and his new band (of which Lula is now a member), Granny Mazur trying to lift the lid on a closed casket, Morelli’s good old Italian boy hotness, and Ranger’s dangerous sex appeal. But these just keep getting better and better. First, Ranger’s wife shows up - she is armed and pissed. I know you’re thinking “Whoa! Ranger actually tied down with his very own ball and chain?” Not to mention, “Scumbag! Then why is he all over our heroine?” Never fear, all will be explained in good time. Then news reports come in that Ranger’s daughter has been kidnapped - by Ranger! Another “Whoa!!.” This one with two exclamation marks.

Now Ranger has to lie low from the Feds; he can’t go back to his place, so he moves in with Stephanie. “Whoa!!!” number three. Morelli’s not going to stand for this, he moves in too. Can you say testosterone overload? Oh, and Stephanie has a new psycho stalker…

I simply adore the love triangle in these books, and honestly I don’t blame Stephanie for not being able to choose between Morelli and Ranger. I am insanely jealous though that she has the choice to make at all!

I don't care if there is no character development, I like these characters just the way they are!

It is a normal day at the office for Stephanie until Ranger's wife (?!) shows up and sticks a gun in Stephanie's face. Then Ranger's daughter is kidnapped by Ranger (?!) and things start to stink in Jersey.

Another laugh out loud, compelling, unputdownable novel by Ms. Evanovich. Bravo for making a
Show More
long series stay good and not becoming boring.

This is airplane stuff....a quick fun/funny read. What a cast of characters!!

This installment of Stephanie-bounty hunter extraordinaire was much better than the last two, but was still not as good as it could have been. I really enjoyed it, however. There were just a few things that irked me. First, nothing in the Ranger-Stephanie-Joe triangle was resolved. Stephanie needs
Show More
to make a decision because as much as I want her to be with Ranger, I really like Joe and I feel sorry for the way Steph is treating him.
I liked learning more about Ranger....and I read the book in one sitting so I am still a fan of the series and after 12 books that is difficult for a writer to do.

#9/81 Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich

For me, just saying Stephanie Plum's name brings a smile. She is a young woman who wants to seem independent but can't seem to manage her job (a Bond Enforcement Agent) or her love life. The two come together in this book when the daughter of her mentor
Show More
(Ranger) is kidnapped apparently by Ranger and it sets her on path which is terrorizing and comical at the same. Having both of the men in her life (Joe and Ranger) competing to protect her one minute and seduce her the next, makes me laugh just when I want to cry. Her characters are fully fleshed out, (including Lula) all the details are integral parts of the plots. Stephanie may not be the greatest BEA but she's a hoot!

Stephanie Plum is being stalked by a woman who claims to be Ranger's wife. She joins in the hunt for bizarro-Ranger to help the real deal clear his name. Again.

I just couldn't seem to enjoy this at all. It was so sleazy. There are too many other great books out there to waste any more time on Janet Evanovich's.

Ranger's secret past shows up in town-- with a gun. Fun.

I liked this one more than 11 or 13. It had me laughing out loud the most!
