Reporter Barrie Travis isn't exactly top of the food chain, so the call from America's First Lady who's lost her baby to SIDS is a bit of a surprise. Barrie's up for the challenge, but when she learns a bit too much about the circumstances surrounding the babies death - enough to make her think

just maybe it wasn't an accident... bad things start to happen. Of course there's a gorgeous ex-Secret Service agent around to fend off the bad guys.

Not terrible, but not wonderful, either.

This book failed to capture my interest. I started skipping the boring parts, then realized I was reading hardly anything at all. It wasn't necessarily a bad book -- just not entertaining enough to hold my attention.

"Exclusive" was first published in 1996. Despite the passage of many societal and political changes, I felt the storyline stayed principally relevant in today's world. With lots of political intrigue and plot twists; the story keeps from dragging, even though some bits are a little unbelievable.

listened to the unabridged version narrated by Ms. Eby, whom did an admirable job in developing and consistently using many different character voices.
Overall, a good book to listen to.

A young hungry TV reporter gets the scoop of her life when she meets with the First Lady of the US. She gets tangled up with an unsavory bunch of people on and off the Beltway. This one keeps you guessing until the very end. A super who done it.

Gagged my way through it in the car (it's audio). I didn't like the narrator, although she had a nice voice, she kept jumping in and out of accents with the same character. Tried to do male voices, not well. Ugh. Aside from that, the story was contrived and poorly researched. It could have been

good, but the character interactions were wooden or predictable. Of course there was the mandatory torrid sex scene which was completely gratuitous and added nothing to the plot whatsoever. At least I know I needn't bother with Sandra Brown again. YMMV :)

Young Female protagonist. Fast-paced. Ir-reverential to protagonist's beauty/wits. Sustained thrill and suspense. Well-written. Finished reading in one evening. Some flaws, like later the possibility of budding romance and sainthood of male hero - was bit too much, a reminder of M & B (actually

there were several more traces). But all in all delightful read. Pulp Fiction with requisite thrill and suspense.
