A great discussion of modern (1980's) tactics and strategy for desert mobile warfare, specifically armored and mechanized forces. The book covers a rotation for one mechanized battalion through the OPFOR experience at Fort Irwin from 1982.
Very revealing and the coverage of mistakes and revelations
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in modern military tactics, those who enjoyed Rommel's "Infantry Attacks" will most likely also enjoy this work.

will prove both interesting and beneficial to both military commanders as well as anyone interested in any planned, competitive area. The real moral behind this entire rotation was the fact that a plan is only good until first contact with an enemy, whether that be the night, the need for supplies or the actual opposing forces.I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in modern military tactics, those who enjoyed Rommel's "Infantry Attacks" will most likely also enjoy this work.
