This series is full of easy rhymes. It makes a great early reader, as well as a great read-aloud for a younger preschooler or toddler.

The sheep, in their jeep, have a run of rhyming problems, until they finally realize they're better off without it. Great fun, funny and cute.

The rhymes and rhythms here are hypnotic. Ten years later I can still recite most of the book. And so can the Girlchild.

This is an adventure story about a flock of sheep that become misguided on their journey. This is a hemerous story with colorful pictures painted at different angles that makes it fun for the readers to follow along with.

This book is done in colored pencil. The book is about a group of sheep whose jeep gets stuck in mud and some pigs help them get out. They crash the jeep and have to sale it. Students might enjoy the humor and pictures in the book.

This was literally the only book on CD I could find in my local library. Everything else was on cassette, and I no longer have a cassette player anywhere. I actually just read this book to the severely handicapped students two weeks before school was out. It is a cute little book.

The audio version
Show More
has banjo music in the background, as well as many other sound effects. It signals page turns with a BEEP BEEP. I like onomatopoeia, so that was pretty fun. I also like that when the animals cheer, we hear animal noises. That is fun.

Yet, the audio felt REALLY SLOW! The reading felt labored somehow. I know that is the point, but there was so much going on, with the banjo banjoin’ and the sheep bleetin’ and the BEEP BEEP….I felt it got away from the story. When I read it, the class and I made all of the noises. I liked that better.

As a rule, I seldom like audio books. The inflections are often strange. It is a personal thing.

this book is good for younger students who are learning about rhythms. It can help them understand better about what a rhythm is.

This book is one of my favorite kid's books. It's has great rhymes and illustrations. Who can resist, "Sheep in a jeep on a hill that's steep, "Jeep in a heap," and "Sheep weep." My favorite illustration shows two pigs pushing the jeep out of the mud. One of the pigs has a tattoo on his front leg.

I think it's a very cute book.

Very good stuff: few words (all of which rhyme), apt and lively illustrations, and good timing. "Sheep weep," indeed.

Awesome read aloud, super fast though. Sheep push their jeep into the mud, pigs help push it out, then the driver sheep runs into a tree. Sheep decide it is time to sell the jeep, cheap!

Am I the only one who has read this book...repeatedly to my child so that almost thirty years later I can quote from it without peeking?

It's a fun book to read to a child (or on your own...shhh!), and the pictures are marvelous. Don't wait until you have your own child or grandchild to check this

Retelling: The sheep went for a drive, got stuck in the mud, got help, the fell out of the car. This is an adventurous tale with lots of ee sounds and rhyming.

Thoughts and feelings: eeep! Those poor sheep!

I like the simple wording of the story.

I thought this book was cute and a good way to teach children how to read. There was a lot of similar words and repeating rhyming patterns so a beginning reader can read this book quite easily. The sound the was repeated throughout the book was the -eep sound. This sound was on every page. This way
Show More
the reader only has to change the beginning sound and can focus on that sound instead of the whole word. I thought it was quite but the plot was a little odd. It didn't make that much sense. The sheep were driving a jeep and it got stuck. I thought maybe the book could've included something about the sheep like their wool or something to make the book a bit more informational. However, I like the repeating sound pattern and the rhyming. The illustrations were cute as well.

This rhyming story follows a sheep driven jeep until it becomes disabled. There are three aspects that most like about Sheep in a Jeep. To start, I like the how Shaw does a good job of rhyming, while at the same time keeping the plot moving at a rhythmic pace. My favorite page reads, "Jeep goes

splash! Jeep goes thud! Jeep goes deep in gooey mud." I also like how Apple uses different graphemes to represent the same phonemes in her rhymes. A good example is "Sheep leap to push the jeep." Finally, the illustrations are action packed and follow the story nicely. "Sheep tug", is accompanied by two pages representing the five sheep feverishly pulling at the jeep and tugging on a rope tied to it, while mud flies through the air.

A story about a jeep that wouldn't go, so the sheep used different tactics to make the jeep go. They tried pushing it, pulling it, they shouted, cheered, but jeep still would not go. Eventually, they wrecked it and put it up for sale for the salvage parts. This is a good book to teach about rhyming

words (leap/jeep, cheer/dear, jeep/steep, heap/weep, and sheep/sweep/heap). Can teach about words that sound alike but are spelled different.

Sheep in a Jeep is a rhyming book about five silly sheep that go on a little adventure together, It is a good book about showing kids words that similar endings ( introducing onsets and rimes- word famalies) Kids would enjoy it because it is a funny good rhytmical book.

Fun, whimsical childrens book with lots of rhyming words in the sheep-jeep family. I thought this was a cute one!

I found the writing very cute and the illustrations just make the book. This is one book I don't mind hearing the kids read to me over and over, and even the older kids like to listen in for nostalgia sake when the younger ones read it. One of my favourites.

Five sheep in a jeep going up a steep hill.

This book would be great for grades K-3 as an early reader for both boys and girls. I would use this book to introduce rhyme scheme to a class. I would keep this in my class library for an independent read. I think kids would really like this for the silliness and the rhythmic pattern.

Totally love it.

Ha ha ha...I laughed out loud and read to the other full-time library staff! We had fun!

The book starts off with the sheep in a jeep on a steep hill. The jeep will not move so the sheep get out to push, what they do not see over the top the hill is a mud puddle. The jeep gets stuck and the sheep tug and pull but cannot get it out of the mud without help. The sheep ask the pigs to push
Show More
with them and with the extra help the jeep gets out of the mud. The sheep get into the jeep, but no one is driving so the jeep runs into a tree. The sheep are in a mess again, they are sad but decide to clean up the mess and sell the jeep cheap.

It is ok, but it is not something I would like to read again and again. The children do enjoy seeing the jeep drove by the sheep.

Animals, Who usually drives a car. Helping out a friend. Teamwork. Mud. Getting stuck.
