This was a very cute story. It was a rhyming story that shows a young boy helping with the animals when they got sick just like the way his mother would take care of him.

Summary:
This book is about a boy who lives on the farm with his mom. One moring she leaves him in charge while she goes out of town, and he hears the cow "Ka-chooooo!" She has the flu, so he does what his mom would do for him. What follows is all the animals on the farm getting the flu, and the

little boy treating them just as him mom would treat him, until in the end the little boy gets the flu and the animals take care of him.

Personal Reaction:
I really like reading this book, and being able to do all the silly noises that go along with it. It shows how if you do something nice for someone, or in this instance some animal that they will do the same for you.

Classroom Extensions:
1. Have a discussion on how not to spread germs when sick. To cover our noses and mouths when sneezing and coughing and to wash our hands afterwards to prevent others from getting sick.
2. Talk about treating others how we would like to be treated, and the rewards from doing so.

A young farmer has his animals get the flu one by one. First the cow, then the chickens, etc. But he soon runs out of room in his house for all the animals (who might be faking it if you ask me). But when he does what his mother does and says that they're too sick for tv and video games they all

leave. However...then the young farmer gets sick and the animals have to take care of him.

I thought it was a cute story for young children up to about first grade. The prose is cute and the illustrations are fun. A sweet lesson on being sick, and the animals are very cute.
