Fran Manushkin's picture book teaches children about the skin we all live in. Babies born in all different colors. Children and adults with freckles, skin that tans and grows with us. The pictures are large and very colorful, with one or two sentences per page. The rhyming of the book makes it

interesting and fun to read.

I think this book would be perfect for teaching diversity and have the children love themselves. It also talks about it's okay to be different. In our classes, we are talking about how to bring up diversity and what kind of materials we should use. I believe that we should use this book to help

provide literature.

Sweet picture book! The rhymes are a little forced, but the illustrations are wonderful -- lots of detail to look at. Very nice celebration of diversity and toddler aged exploration of body parts.
