I disliked this book for two reasons. The first reason is because of the poor illustrations. Though several characters are included in this book, all of their expressions remain identical and unreadable. The pictures seem outdated and the colors of each item on the page are way too similar because

they blend the different elements together, which confuses the reader. For example, on a couple pages the eggs placed on the table can barely be seen because the eggs are white and the table is a very pale yellow. I don’t think a young reader would notice them even if someone were to point them out. The second reason I disliked this book is because the writing was not engaging. On some pages it seems as though the author wants to create a complete sentence but on others, the pictures are simply labeled with a single word. The writing is confusing because there is no punctuation or capitalization, and the illustrations do not make the author’s writing more clear to understand. The big idea of this story is to inform readers of how to make scrambled eggs.
