This is a short book with beautiful illustrations about water and it's various uses. The character in the book encounters water inside and out, in good circumstances and bad. It covers almost every basic function of water in a way little ones can understand.

where near the style of Eric Carle but I would put Frank Asch on Carle's level of brilliant imagery. I love the fact that he uses watercolors to illustrate a book about water. Ironic, to say the least.

After reading this book, our kids could take the time to explore water. We could set up a tub with water and discuss what things sink and what floats. We could go see some fish in the fish tank downstairs. We could turn the water faucet on and talk about where that water comes from. We could also watercolor our picture, whether about water or not.
