animal, is a realistic character, as he must make a hard choice and rely on other people and make friends to succeed in his journey. The plot of the story, though predictable, has a saisfying conclusio. One element of a writing is repetition, which you find each time the kangaroo must have help to get one step closer to where he is going. The setting is very appropriately Australia, and is shown through the detailed artwork and the many different animals introduced throughout the story. The book is also informational because at the end of the book, there are several facts about kangaoos which children would find very interesting.
