Henry loves to spend time with Mudge in the fall- they do things a little bit differently, but they love each other the same. Henry is afraid of scary stories, but not as much as Mudge. Henry doesn’t like his Aunt Sally until he finds out she likes Mudge.

Henry and Mudge go on many adventures and take children with them. There are so many to chose from. All good and developmentally appropriate encourage and advance reading.

A book about the friendship between a boy and his dog Mudge. This book talks about how he spends his time during the fall time, with leaves changing, Halloween time, and Thanksgiving. The dog adds humor to the stories.

I liked how this book in done in chapters (which makes students feel like they are really learning to read when they get to read "chapter books") but how everything is very simple and easy to read. I also loved the vivid illustration/pictures which helps a beginning reader easily identify what is

I have a lot of respect for Henry's mom. In some ways I want to be her, with a big porch & yard & trees, and long dresses and bare feet - but I don't want a huge slobbery dog, thank you.
