Sweet book with lovely illustrations. Fun for kids because of the mom/young relationships and names that are shared.

This is a book about baby animals and what they are called. This book rhymes and flows from one page to the other telling the reader what a specific baby animal is called and then asking the reader to guess one before turning the page. This book also has a little surprise stumper that the end.
I
I would use this book in the classroom if I were giving a lesson about animals and their offspring. I could ask children to match pictures of baby animals with their parent. I could also have a discussion about how animals mostly resemble their parents and then ask the children to name some animals that don't necessarily look like their parent.

really enjoyed this book because of the rhyming with the words, and because I love animals. I also loved the ending of the book. It was "sad but true". Personal Response:
I like the way this book is present in simple, rhyming text. It makes it easy to understand and enjoyable to read aloud. I also like the question/answer format that allows for interaction.
Curricular Connections:
I would have my students (6th grade) work in groups to extend this
