This reprint of the two-volume of edition of 1834 is still the most complete & compact edition of the works of Jonathan Edwards (1703-58). (The Yale edition, intended to be definitive, is still in progress.) Edwards remains one of the most important writers of eighteenth century colonial America & the breadth of his interests as a pastor, revival preacher, educationalist, theologian, philosopher & missionary to the native Americans is reflected in these volumes. Edwards was also the first President of the College of New Jersey (later Princeton College).
