The Palace of Winged Words a vintage book is the story of the development of telephone exchanges in Australia. It was published by Telecom Australia Information and Publicity Office in 1980. This history of telecommunication is told with the aid of illustrations, vintage black and white and sepia photography throughout. Included is a double page reproduction of a 1880 aerial view illustration of Melbourne to aid in location of the exchanges.
