Description
The Duke of Athole, an iron full-rigged ship built in 1865 by Denny & Rankine, Dumbarton, sailed from Plymouth on the 20th January 1881, arriving at Maryborough on 3rd May 1881. This book aims to provide an insight into life on board an immigrant vessel and how the passengers went on to make a life in their new country. It includes newspaper reports, passenger list and stories of the passengers.
