to be adopted into a family. He was adopted into a family with two dads:Daddy Rich and Daddy Albert. When Lester first arrived at his new home he was very lonely and scared. He wanted to hold onto his suitcase full of action figures, even though his fathers had told him that he would no longer need a suitcase. I think this suitcase could be used to teach symbolism to students in third and fourth grade as an item of security and they could do different activities with symbolism after reading this book. The book then goes on to discuss how Lester never wanted to sleep in his own bed because he was lonely. But his fathers insisted that he had to. This was a problem for Lester as he would wake up every night and sneak into their room. The solution was for their dog, Wincka to come sleep in Lester's bed. This would be a great example of teaching problem and problem-solving to students in the primary grades who are reading this book. Lester eventually got used to his new life and began to love it and loved his fathers. This book is also good for introducing a different type of family structure and the process of adoption as an older child and the transition to what it may be like having two fathers.
