This is a tale of a turtle teaching to look beyond a single view into the universal picture of life. About blessing everything and being grateful for every piece of life.

A story with beautiful illustrations, lovely cadence, and an enduring message. I would read it to everyone, if they would hold still long enough.

when I found out it was a female, it melted my heart. Actually teared up when the broken truth meet up with its other half. “It was perfect.” The heart was broken and the other half of the heart was given to the young girl by the turtle and when it was reconnected it read on one side, “You are loved, and the other half said, “and so are they.” POWERFUL!! This story is visually stunning as well as morally beautiful. It offers a simple introduction into humanism. It tells a sad tale of war and the failures of human compassion, but does so with the idea that there can be resolve, and a solution. I would recommend it for all classrooms.
