in Asian countries and contributing to international cultural exchange in the region. The impassioned response to the third THE BEPPU ASIA BIENNALE OF CONTEMPORARY ART saw 582 entries submitted. These came from artists from 36 countries and regions of the world. 276 international entries and 306 Japanese entries were submitted to the competition.
