The sizzling resonance of a searing piece of yourself, an embodiment of being.
Do you smell that?
The lasting whiff of your personal identity, summed up in a work
What else did you expect?
A blank wall, absent of consummation of judgement?
Marinate me, we said.
Feed us your knowledge. We are hungry for it.
Or we were.

Now we are stuffed and content, favourably filled with institutional teachings. He we are, portraying our expertise of your guilded aesthetic theory. Look at what we have accomplished. Look how we can appease you.
On the other hand, some of us are sickened. Maybe this isn't what we wanted - what we have come to. Rejecting the system and being thrown on the grill raw, while you ingest in this intentional, un-seasoned piece of work.
We don't all agree and we are not a ready-made platter - ready to please your sense with our decadent array. We are not catered, unified whole, all soaked up and ready for searing.
We are the University of British Columbia's 2014 BFA/BA Visual Art Graduates. And this is what we have to show for it.'
