Description

John Knox, the great Reformer of Scotland, is often remembered as something akin to a biblical prophet born out of time strong and brash, thundering in righteous might. In truth, he was low in stature, and of a weakly constitution, a small man who was often sickly and afflicted with doubts and fears. As the third volume in the Long line of godly men profiles series this book takes a different look at the great Scottish Reformer John Knox. Douglas Bond shows the reader a portrait of John Knox that is not often seen -- a frail, weak man but one whom God can put to work in mighty ways. How is this

possible? Mr. Bond shows us that the man God uses is the man who is totally committted to the furtherance of His Kingdom and a man who is totally submitted to His will. John Knox was just such a man-- and Knox served God not only as the firebrand who confronted Mary Queen of Scots but also as a loving and compassionate family man and pastor.
This book is well-written, making even Knox's adherence to predestination more understandable (and more appealing?) to the average reader. In any case, the average believer who sees him/herself as weak or timid can be encouraged that God may use them for His glory too.
