Description: Vic Mansfield is the author of Tibetan Buddhism and Modern Physics: Toward a Union of Love and Knowledge (Templeton Press, 2008), Synchronicity, Science, and Soul-Making (Open Court, 1995), and Head and Heart: A Personal Exploration of Science and the Sacred (Quest Books, 2002). From 1973 until his death in 2008, Vic Mansfield was a professor of physics and astronomy at Colgate University. He has also taught and published scholarly articles on Jungian psychology and Tibetan Buddhism. This article is a republication of an original online article of the same title which was based on an invited talk at the Physics and Tibetan Buddhism Conference held at the University of California, Santa Barbara on January 30-31, 1998.
